What is Heart For The House?

Heart For the House is a generosity initiative here at South Creek that we are doing to both celebrate our past and walk into an even brighter future.

We believe the Church is not a building it is the people. The church building however is a tool that God has given us to help reach people with the love of Jesus. It is a place of hope that not only shares The Gospel but helps host practical needs for our larger community. We are now celebrating 15 years of incredible ministry here at this location. In that time we have seen countless baptisms, hundreds of parent-child dedications, thousands of hours of recovery ministry, over a thousand preschool students learn and grow, and much more.

Others sacrificed to help this place become a reality and become not only vibrant now but with the chance for such an amazing future. But to continue to make sure this “house” is hosting incredible things we need your help. As time goes on our building need updates and maintenance to keep them looking great and functioning well. As well as being able to push forward in reaching people with the message of The Gospel. So we are asking you to considering giving to something we are calling the heart for the house fund. This fund will exist to help us as we head into the next 15 years of ministry here and seek to keep our building in great shape so we can minister to people well.  FAQ’s

Why are we doing these projects?

Our building is now over 15 years old and while we have tried to update and upgrade things as needed, we are starting to see more needs and we are wanting to help best steward our facility well and we want to be forward thinking.

When will we start the projects?

The cool thing about Heart for the House is that we really can begin a project as soon as we have the money for a project, meaning we could can do projects before a phase is fully funded.

What happens if you have overestimated on a project?

We will just roll those dollars over into the next phase that is being funded.

What happens if you have underestimated on a project?

We have tried to estimate on a slightly higher side with the hopes that we don’t run into issues but when in doubt we will seek guidance of the governance board and share with the congregation if needed.

Why can’t these things be funded by the general budget?

While God has been good to our church financially in this season, we are not operating with excess amount of surplus. These additional funds allow us to deal with some needed updates without putting stress on our budget and it allows us to pursue some dreams God has placed on our hearts.

Should I move my tithe over to Heart For The House?

Please no! Heart For The House is a generosity initiative that is designed to be giving that is over and above your normal tithes and offerings.

What is the timeline?

Our commitment Sunday is February 25th but people can give before then and our goal is complete Heart For The House by the end of 2024.
