Romans
Speaker: Pastor Aaron Perry
We continued our teaching series "The Word: The Stories in The Story" in which we are on a journey looking at the overarching story of scripture by focusing in on some stories within this big story. You see The Bible is not merely an ancient book of rules. It is a library of different stories telling one unified story of love and redemption. It is foundational, formational, and functional.
This week we focused in on the book of Romans. This book is actually a letter a man named Paul wrote to the church in Rome at that time reminding them that they have been made right by Jesus and His sacrifice and that should be the unifying thing that keeps them at peace. Below you will find a few key take aways from the book and the message!
- We were rescued by righteousness so that we could be made Righteous.
- Some of us would say we are not ashamed of the Gospel, yet our lives say something different.
- The patterns of this world will never lead us to the love of God that can transform the world.
So, as it is election week, remember these things!
- Whether you vote or not, do not put your faith in a candidate, party, policy, or platform.
- God will still be good and in control regardless of who is the president.
- If your candidate doesn’t win that doesn’t take you off the hook of loving your neighbor and seek His Kingdom.
We hope this week you lean into these truths and that you spend time Jesus. And remember to put your hope and trust in Jesus and love your neighbor no matter what.
