Opportunities To Love Your Neighbor

Every day we encounter opportunities. Some opportunities are in our everyday life, some we see online or on TV, some are in our head, and others are placed in our heart and mind. Every day when given opportunities we are also faced with excuses, excuses on why we can’t, won’t, or shouldn’t take on the opportunities before us. Some excuses are legitimate or maybe even good, while others aren’t.  Excuses and opportunities will always be present but it’s your choice which you choose.

In Matthew 25:31-46 we learn that Jesus is very concerned with the way we love and treat our neighbors, in fact our eternal residence is somewhat based upon it. In Matthew 25:40 Jesus says, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” So when we love our neighbors we are actually loving Jesus Himself. There are three main ways to love your neighbor…Spiritually, relationally, and tangibly.  Now these are categorized to help you think of different ways but the reality is that there is much overlap in them, doing things that are tangible and relational are spiritual.
