Exodus

Speaker: Pastor Aaron Perry

We continued our new teaching series "The Word: The Stories in The Story" in which we are on a journey looking at the overarching story of scripture by focusing in on some stories within this big story. You see, The Bible is not merely an ancient book of rules, it is a library of different stories telling one unified story of love and redemption. It is foundational, formational, and functional.

We focused in on the book of Exodus! This is a heroine book of God's rescuing His people from enslavement but raising up an unlikely leader to lead the people out and towards a promised land! Below you will find a few key take aways from the book and the message.

- God will call people regardless of their pasts, their pedigrees, or problems
because His power is greater than our flaws, faults, or failures.
- Only God can make a way for us to go from enslavement to salvation.
- God is faithful to fulfill His promises even when we are not.
- Don’t go back to broken places God rescued you from - keep following Him.

We kicked off our new teaching series "The Word: The Stories in The Story" in which we are on a journey looking at the overarching story of scripture by focusing in on some stories within this big story. You see The Bible is not merely an ancient book of rules. It is a library of different stories telling one unified story of love and redemption. It is foundational, formational, and functional.

We focused in on Genesis and the creation of all things, including us! You see, you were created on purpose and for a purpose. You were created by love, to be loved, and to give love. But sadly there was this great Fall(out) in which humanity began experiencing things God did not intended us to experience, sin and shame. The Fall lead to a fallout that could not be stopped without a savior. But thankfully even at that moment God was working and Jesus was on His way.

From there we learned that God would use family to restore this brokenness. God blessed a family to be a blessing to all and God wants to use His people to bless all people so that they might all be once again, His sons and daughters.

We concluded by talking about these three truths from Genesis and the story of scripture.

-God’s faithfulness will always be greater than your unfaithfulness.
-You have been called to a purpose greater than yourself.
-You were created to be free in Christ.

Speaker: Pastor Dave Perry

We welcomed guest speaker Pastor Dave Perry who wrapped up our series called “Unfinished” by talking about having grace for others which can be a really difficult thing! As a Christian saved by grace, however, we should respond differently than we did before to hurt and disappointment in our lives. In Ephesians 4:32, it reads, "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”

Here are a couple of questions to contemplate:

       - Do you live in the awareness of the grace you have been given?
       - Can we show that same mercy & grace to others?

Let’s be people of grace this week!

Grace for Yourself

Speaker: Pastor Cole Maxwell

We talked about having "Grace for Yourself." The big question we asked was, "Does peace with God require us to have peace with ourselves?" If we look at Ephesians 2:8-10, we see that God created us, and we are His masterpieces.

Some of the points and quotes from the sermon are below:

Sometimes we can be so busy trying to make peace with everyone else that we forget to make peace with ourselves.

    * We receive our value and our worth based on who God says
we are and how He sees us.

God says our value and worth are not based on what we have but on who we are in Him.

    * God uses others to remind you to give yourself the grace you need.

‌As we try to have more grace for ourselves, we are praying that you know how much you are loved and valued by our creator.
